    Clamp meter

    A clamp meter is a versatile tool that can be used for a variety of electrical testing and troubleshooting applications. Some common uses of clamp meters include:

    Measuring Current: A clamp meter is primarily used to measure the amount of current flowing through a wire or cable. This is done by clamping the meter around the wire, and the meter will display the current reading.

    Measuring Voltage: Some clamp meters are also capable of measuring voltage. To do this, the meter is placed in parallel with the circuit and the voltage reading is displayed.

    Measuring Resistance: Many clamp meters can also measure the resistance of a component or circuit. This is done by connecting the meter to the component or circuit and the resistance reading is displayed.

    Checking Continuity: Clamp meters can also be used to check for continuity in a circuit. This is done by connecting the meter to the circuit and checking if there is a continuous path for the current to flow.

    Diagnosing Electrical Problems: Clamp meters are also useful for diagnosing electrical problems. By measuring the current, voltage, resistance, and continuity, electricians and technicians can identify issues with wiring, components, and circuits.

    Earth Testers

    Earth testers, also known as ground resistance testers, are devices used to measure the resistance of the earth or ground to the flow of electrical current. This is important in a variety of applications, such as power distribution systems, lightning protection systems, and earthing systems for buildings.

    Earth testers typically work by injecting a current into the ground using an auxiliary electrode, and then measuring the voltage drop between the auxiliary electrode and a ground rod or other reference point. From this measurement, the resistance of the earth can be calculated using Ohm’s law.

    Insulation Tester

    An insulation tester, also known as a megohmmeter or a “megger,” is an electrical instrument used to measure the resistance of insulation materials. It is typically used to test the insulation of wires, cables, transformers, motors, and other electrical equipment to ensure that they are operating safely and effectively.

    The insulation tester works by applying a high voltage, typically between 250 and 5000 volts DC, to the insulation being tested. The current that flows through the insulation is then measured, and the resistance of the insulation is calculated using Ohm’s law (resistance = voltage / current). The insulation resistance is typically expressed in megaohms (millions of ohms).

    Multi-Meters

    A multi meter, also known as a multi tester or VOM (volt-ohm-milliammeter), is a device used to measure electrical values such as voltage, current, and resistance. Multi meters are essential tools for anyone working with electronics, electrical circuits, or appliances.

    There are two main types of multi meters: analogue and digital. Analog multi meters use a needle and a dial to display readings, while digital multi meters display readings on a digital screen. Digital multi meters are more accurate and easier to read, but some people prefer the simplicity and durability of analogue models.

    Multi meters typically come with probes that are connected to the device being measured. The red probe is used to measure positive voltage, while the black probe is used to measure negative voltage. To measure current, the probes are placed in series with the circuit being measured. To measure resistance, the probes are placed across the component being measured.

    Multi meters can also be used to test for continuity, which is a measure of whether or not a circuit is complete. They can also be used to test for diode polarity and to measure capacitance and frequency.
