Bearings

Bearings are mechanical components that reduce friction between rotating parts and support axial and radial loads. They are crucial in many industrial applications, including machinery, vehicles, and power transmission systems.

The primary function of bearings is to support the rotating shafts or other machine components and reduce the friction caused by the contact between moving surfaces. They accomplish this by placing a rolling element, such as a ball or roller, between two surfaces. This rolling element allows the surfaces to slide over each other with reduced friction, while still transmitting the load from one surface to the other.

Bearings can be classified based on their shape, type of load they can handle, and their applications. Some common types of bearings include ball bearings, roller bearings, thrust bearings, and sleeve bearings.

Ball bearings, for example, are commonly used in applications that require high speed and low friction, such as in electric motors, machine tools, and conveyor systems. Roller bearings are ideal for handling heavy loads, such as in the automotive and aerospace industries.
